Today is the end of the first quarter of the year. This means we're over 1/4 of the way through our total work time this year, which is a little spooky, but we've made some pretty amazing progress. Julia has modeled enemies and started on 3D video, Sam has created sound effects and music and worked on animation, Abi has been 3D modeling the halls and fixing mistakes from last year, and Ryan has been assembling, lighting, and texturing everything in Unity. We have the GAD room (other than adding objects like computers and chairs) completely done, and have begun working on the halls and rooms around it. Moving in to the rest of the year, we need to make a game that is actually a game. This means that we are prioritizing (after we finish the building in order to have a level) working on our enemies and pickups. We have 2-3 enemies now (1 chicken and 2 versions of a pig) and each of them need to be able to wander and pursue the player. We also were planning on having flash drives to pick up, and collecting them would be the main objective. Sam has begun looking into scripts, which Ryan will take to Unity and modify. Julia has already modeled the enemies which Abi is now lowering the polygon count of so that Sam can animate them and the final result won't break the game. We are hopeful that we will be able to have at least the basic bare bones of this building and one enemy that for the most part works correctly before the end of next quarter.
We'll also try to update this website more often, so stay tuned if you're interested.
